 by Nadira(Snapore)

I was having a hard time deciding between the 16GB model and the 32GB model. I settled on 32GB since you can seldom have much storage. I put a 16GB MicroSD in the tablet's additional MicroSD slot, and 32GB in the keyboard SD slot. GRAND TOTAL = 78GB OF STORAGE SPACE.

I have had this tablet for a week now. I read every review of the top Android Tablets. Through cautious over-engineering, and making the choice method way hard, it was down to the Galaxy Tab and the Eee Pad. The Eee Pad Transformer won the day. I bought this with the keyboard dock. What swayed me over to the Asus was the fact that the keyboard dock provided a space for additional storage and an extended battery, as well as USB ports, and a Mini-HDMI port. No other tablet gizmo is offering that distinctive combination of features.

Docked, it is a whole new machine. You have access to additional storage, battery life, and a keyboard that will let you crank out emails, tweets, weblog postings, or generate documents/spreadsheets/ppts for school or work. The keyboard is comfortable, and the touchpad responsive.

The ASUS Eee Pad itself is responsive. The screen is beautiful. Any of the reviews that comment on it is construction are way off. The ASUS is solid, feels solid, and fits nicely in your hands. Battery life is surprising. Today, I did content consumption for several hours while listening to Pandora and only used about 25% of the battery. The pre-loaded apps are lovely, but here are a few must-haves that you can get from the Android Marketplace: Kaiten Mail; TwitterComb; File Manager HD; and Dolphin HD. These are all improvements over the functional stock applications.

ASUS has hit the proverbial homerun with the Eee Pad Transformer and optional keyboard dock. Together, this is a combination that is worthy of business and leisure travel, as well as for use all over the house, campus, city. It won't replace your corporate laptop computer or home computer yet - unless your requirements are for more content consumption than hardcore content creation. In November, I plan on taking this gizmo with me for a three week trip to Tahiti. I will leave the corporate laptop computer at home. The ASUS Eee Pad ought to be plenty to stay ahead of work while on holiday, catch a few movies, and read a few nice books.

Cons? Not any yet. If I had to pick on something, it would be that the supplied power cord is short. Disgrace on ASUS for not using a MicroUSB connection for power. They went with a proprietary power adapter. Also note, the keyboard dock does not come with an additional power cord.

Toshiba Thrive 10.1-Inch 8 GB Android Tablet AT105-T108

Toshiba Thrive 10.1-Inch 8 GB Android Tablet AT105-T108
Introducing the Prosper Tablet by Toshiba, powered by Android three.1 (Honeycomb), offering a better way to browse the world wide web, enjoy e-books & HD videos, play games, listen to music & more. Complete, convenient & customizable, it is everything a tablet can & ought to be, with a stunning ten.1-inch diagonal high-res multi-touch widescreen display, features you can personalize & quick performance so you can multitask your way through your digital life (& favourite entertainment) with ease.
by Andra T (SA)
Like it allot. Like others have said: the ports the SD Card slot is important to me. Battery life is over six hours with continuous use and a couple of days with small use each day.

The Prosper is simple to hold and use. The fake rubberized back makes it non slippery when held or placing down on a table or recessed area. Definitely competes with other tablet. I recommend it to others.

P.S. Would give it stars if Skype and Netflix were obtainable.

HP TouchPad Wi-Fi 32 GB 9.7-Inch Tablet Computer

HP TouchPad Wi-Fi 32 GB 9.7-Inch Tablet Computer
   by Sera M (UK)
Purchased this version the day they came out, have been hard pressed to put it down since then! Some thoughts:

one. The battery life is awesome! 6.5 hours of continuous heavy use only used up 65% of my battery!
two. You get the actual web, flash actually plays remarkably well. You can play videos straight on youtube, can click links in them etc. Not a immense fan of flash, but it is all over the place!
three. In the event you are familiar with webOS, the operating method on the TouchPad, you know the way awesome the mutli-tasking is, widely held to be best mobile interface in that regards, & it shines on this stunning gigantic screen.
four. As a retailer rep at a gigantic electronic store commented after I showed "it does a lot for you" & unlike his phone/pad on the TouchPad you dont must figure out which app to make use of, go find it, launch it, & then start typing, on here you start typing what you are thinking then pick the app to finish it with in an simple list (e mail, fb, twitter, memo, calendar, & the list goes on!).
five. Although it does have a limited number of apps compared to the tablet market leader, it's plenty of of the important ones, & most are outstanding quality with only a few ads to be seen! The main thing to keep in mind is you dont need an app for a whole lot of things, you have the actual web like on a computer! Imagine in the event you had to go find app for each net site you desired to visit on your computer, nuts right? This works like your computer, apps when you require them, the actual web the remainder of the time.
6. Your accounts are tied right in to the tablet, & you can access everything from place... You can chat on google, skype, objective, yahoo, etc. (even sms with a new HP webOS phone) all from the same place built right in to the messaging app. E mail is the same way & is the best e mail interface I have ever seen, & I am excited to have it on my computer next year when HP starts putting webOS on every PC they sell (some time of window you can run webOS apps in most likely).
7. Love video skyping on this!
8. Could it have a rear camera, definite, doubt I would use it much (thats what my smartphone &/ camera is for) if it is a poor quality camera like the leading device.
9. I could go on & on (so could my spouse who is trying hard to win currently for herself, & my children who are jn love with coloring games, air hockey, & naturally ANGRY BIRDS HD!) In the event you are keen to receive a tablet, start here, in the event you dont like it, return & switch to another platform, but this is you need to try for a bit!

MOTOROLA XOOM Android Tablet (Wi-Fi)

MOTOROLA XOOM Android Tablet (Wi-Fi)
           by Jacob A
I own both. I bought the iPad2 the day it came out... & I bought the Xoom a couple days ago. The iPad2 is sexier on the outside for sure. In typical Apple fashion, it is wrapped in its packaging & hardware like Art. The Motorola Xoom packaging is lackluster & the visual aspects of the hardware side by side with the iPad leave a lot to be desired. HOWEVER, the Xoom's Google Android Honeycomb Operating Method is far superior to the iPad2's iOS. A lot so, that the iPad2 when you use it "feels" elderly & outdated next to the Xoom. Unlike other Android touch pads I have played with, the screen slides actual smooth.

Fortunately, I am in a position where I can own both. However, in the event you are trying to choose between which to buy, it largely depends on in the event you are a mac fan. In the event you are, then the iPad is the way to go. Irrespective of how much better I tell you the Android Honeycomb Operating Method is on this Xoom tablet, it won't matter. But, in the event you are not a mac fan & looking to select the best tool for the funds, without query, at least right now, the best is the Xoom.

Motorola got it right. Nice job guys, finally something that competes & beats the iPad. However, work a tiny bit on the design of the outer shell... it could use a tiny more sexy like the iPad2.

Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet (Foggy Night)

Dell Streak 7 Wi-Fi Tablet (Foggy Night)
            by Sara A
I shopped around for other tablet devices and at last settled for the Streak 7 for a few reasons: screen size, weight, cost and the Gorilla Glass screen. Since I didn't require to risk dropping it, I bought a rubber case for it. I also bought additional memory, so even with the extras, the cost was still far below what would pay for other tablets on the market.

I was ecstatic when it arrived and could not put it down! I admit that I had a shaky start with it because the owner's manual is useless. I have had it now for about weeks and I have learned more about using it than I did from reading the literature you get with it.

For the most part, I am fabulous happy with my Streak 7. There's some issues, like Bluetooth transferring out to other devices and being able to finding what files you require. These are small issues compared to the happiness I have with this tool. In case you are in the marketplace for something multi-functional, small, simple to make use of (one time you get used to it) and usually nifty, I recommend the Dell Streak 7.

Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer (Aluminum Metallic)

Acer Iconia Tab A500-10S16u 10.1-Inch Tablet Computer (Aluminum Metallic)
           by Antony
Connected right away to wireless, using the included browser or Dolphin HD pages load quickly. Flash ten.3 runs nice, no issue with youtube videos on 720p (no point on 1080p as it is 1200x800).

Got the Iconia Tab a500 about a week ago. Found it pleasant looking, a bit on the heavy side but it doesn't bother me. Not the slimmest of tablets, although it feels well built.Wanted the Asus Eee Pad Transformer but it is currently selling for over $20 percent over the MSRP. It is quick, games run amazingly nice. Tried the included NFS Shift, along with Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 and Samurai II: Vengeance and Angry Birds. Quick loading, awesome looking. Bought Speedy Office HD, blazing quick and stable. Google Body is stunning.

Cameras are so so but will do the job on a pinch, seriously, is not like you are going around shooting pics with a tablet anyway. Video chatting works fine, although most of my contacts do not use gtalk so I guess won't be using it much but Skype on the other hand might come in handy.

Used Moboplayer to watch some avi files, no issue at all. Winamp syncs over wifi, awesome. Plugged an USB drive to copy some files, worked like a charm. Installed a 32 bit micro SD card and I have now some space for carrying around movies, music, books and stuff this puppy filled with apps.

In conclusion, in case you need a nice priced android three.0 tablet, for now this is your only option.

The screen looks great and even when it is not IPS, it looks as nice with great viewing angles.

Samsung Galaxy Tab (Wi-Fi)

Samsung Galaxy Tab (Wi-Fi)
     by Tamara
First off, something everyone purchasing of these needs to be aware of that I was not, is that this is not basically a WiFi version of the existing 3G Galaxy Tablet. This model P1010 WiFi is stripped down, it's a lessor CPU, graphics processor, GPS & bluetooth. Those are major aspects, additionally it does not work with lots of accessories such as the RCA out cables so you won't be able to watch videos on a TV. All that said, it is still a solid OK product. Performance is OK, & the features are fundamentally OK, but the shortage of accessory support that the P1000 model has is a MAJOR drawback.

That said, I do use it often for lots of tasks, but it is laggy compared to the 3G version & it was a major let down to discover how much Samsung crippled it. I'll still get lots of use out of it, but I would not buy this device again & I would not recommend it to someone either.

Coby Kyros 4 GB 7-Inch Tablet with Touchscreen and Android 2.2, MID7024-4G (Black)

Coby Kyros 4 GB 7-Inch Tablet with Touchscreen and Android 2.2, MID7024-4G (Black)
           by Denis
I was an owner of the earlier model of the 7" Kyros (the MID7015). I was two times happy with it, despite its limitations and flaws.

I bought this with hopes it was merely a fix of the earlier version. It is not. It is an entirely different product. Everything has been improved, including outside controls and speakers. It's a much higher quality build in every way, and all the features have been improved. The program, Android six.2, works much better and it is speedy.
I first bought the 7015 after trying a Nook and realising it would be ideal if it only was unlocked. This tablet has surpassed all of those specifications I had in mine, and still is an excellent cost.
Its camera, microphone, stereo speakers, and faster CPU have resulted in a tablet which is useful without any apparent flaws.
The thing is that it is a resistive touch screen. This means it needs pressure. I wanted such as screen so I would not always get fingerprints over it. The Kyros 70 series all have such screens, and an included stylus.
This model does not come with the same jacket its predecessor had (it's a nice sleeve though) and it does not hold the stylus in the case.
As with the others, this tool does not have the Google Market. It's Applib. However, can basically install the Amazon Appstore on it (go to the Amazon site, give electronic mail address, and download it from electronic mail sent by Amazon).
I have not rooted this tool because there is no require (I did on the 7015). I use Opera Mini for web browsing and the included Browser for watching Youtube videos.
Games such as Angry Birds render and run fine on this tool, although, I have not extensively tested such apps on it.
It is and a nice tool as a book reader, with the app of your choice (Kindle for me), and it is more versatile, but less expensive, than comparable devices.

For a long time I've dreamed of the day that I wouldn't have to cart around lots of notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, paper, and binders. I dreamed of the day I could carry something like they iPad with me wherever I went, take notes, write code, complete assignments, write papers, draw diagrams and graphs...do everything on the go. That day has arrived with the release of the ASUS Slate EP121.

It's better than an iPad in numerous ways. It offers all the productivity of a laptop, plus the ability to hand write notes, draw on screen captures, and annotate pdfs. It also offers the world's most popular operating system--and it runs Windows 7 well.

And whereas other Tablet PC's in the past have cost an arm and a leg, this thing is extremely good looking, very nimble on its feet, totally portable, and far more affordable than anything else in its productivity class has ever been.

In short, I love my ASUS Slate.

The only con is that the battery life isn't *that* great relative to netbooks, but is pretty respectable relative to laptops. It gets about 4 hours under normal usage and much-reduced brightness settings (which are totally sufficient).

My hopes for future generations of the Slate are: more battery life, a discrete graphics chip (but believe me, the graphics performance of the Slate is exceptional considering it's running integrated graphics), and a bigger SSD drive.

Keep in mind that on mine I have a full install of Windows 7, Visual Studio 2010, Office 2010, Microsoft Expression Suite, Intel Parallel Studio 2011, LibreOffice 3, etc etc etc. And I still have something like 15GB left!

In short, I love my Slate and can't say enough good things about it. In my opinion ASUS really hit it out of the park on this one. THIS is what a Windows 7 Tablet PC/Slate SHOULD be.

If you're a student, this is just what you need. Trust me. It rocks!

Coby Kyros MID7015 7-Inch Android Internet Touchscreen Tablet - Black

Coby Kyros MID7015 7-Inch Android Internet Touchscreen Tablet - Black
         by Dian A
I was reluctant to buy this initially because I am not familiar with the Coby brand but because of a Black Friday event, I could not resist. I was five times debating between an ipad or an android tablet so I decided to get this to try it out for not plenty of money. It works lovely, it reminds me of my Dash Evo without phone capabilities. I love the fact that I can download the Kindle app and review all of my books on it. There is and a great app called Jorte, which is similar to an actual paper planner and I can check my Google mail, when I am in a wifi available area. Here's why I gave it two stars, the issue I have had is the screen has gone out a few times and I have actually had to reset this thing once. Also, my screen kept fading in and out, only giving a view of colorful lines! I am not definite what happened there but it appears to be working fine now. I have 30 days to return it so I will continue to make use of it for a few days and pick if I require to keep it our not.

In short, I love my Slate and can't say enough good things about it. In my opinion ASUS really hit it out of the park on this one. THIS is what a Windows 7 Tablet PC/Slate SHOULD be.

If you're a student, this is just what you need. Trust me. It rocks!

I, like most people ordered this Superpad tablet because of the PRICE, the HUGE screen size, and for necessity. When I first received this product, I was dumbfounded. The only thing working for me was the USB port/flash drive. days I was frustrated because I could not down load anything, I got no response from the developer ( I sent him five emails), and the widgets were so dull. But, soon, after some trial and error I figured things out.

YOU MUST HAVE micro SD card in order to make use of the Market or download. The video is nice. Size is great and the downloads are fast. One time I figured out how this tablet worked and think me, it wasn't simple...I'm happy now with this purchase. I didn't need to pay 600 bucks for a USB port less IPAD. This product has five USB ports and five SD ports. I would recommend others to buy. The youtude video also works great. Not slow at all. I think I will get my son for his Birthday.
